The Lord is My Shepard

Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepard
I shall not want...

I don't seem to stop wanting in this consumer driven society that i live in, sad but true...

I want a camera, i get it
I want clothes, i get them
I want a new lap top, i get it
and well frankly the list goes on.

But let me tell you from experience that none of those things satisfy my soul, none of those things make me happy for long, and none of those things fill that hunger inside for something to make me inner peace.

That is because i should not be seeking things to make me happy, in life no matter what we yearn for, if it is not yearning for and receiving the love of our Shepard Jesus, we will never be satisfied.

Let us begin to want for the Lord, to seek Him and there we shall find contentment, peace and rest

Peace Like a River

Our God is SO Big
Our God is SO Mighty
There is NOTHING out God cannot do...

Im sure we have heard that song thousands of times, but have you really stopped to think about it.

Imagine the biggest thing you have ever see in your life...
Well our God is Bigger.

Have you ever been in the sea, have you ever been tossed around by the waves, or even sat on the beach at night watching the waves roll in and looking out over the vast ocean, do you think about how mighty the sea is...

Our God is MIGHTIER

Have you ever had a problem or a circumstance that you thought, man this is impossible and no on can help me with this...

Our God CAN.

James 1:6-8
But when you pray, you must believe and not doubt AT ALL. Whoever doubts is like a wave in the sea  that is driven and blown about by the wind.
A person like that, unable to make up his mind and undecided in all he does, must not think that he will receive anything from the Lord.

Be Still

How hard is it to be still these days, i mean for me i know it is very hard to find time to be still with a 2 year old and a 6 month old in the house...

There always seems to be something to do and when i am still it is usually because i am sleeping.

But God instructs us to "be still", so what does that mean?

Well to me it means to take time out to spend with God, for me that is doing this blog because this is the time i get to fill my heart with scripture and then think about it, think about how to apply it to my life and to talk to God.

This scripture has just been such food for my soul lately 

Psalm 37: 7-9

Be still in the presence of the Lord,

and wait patiently for Him to act.

Don't worry about evil people who prosper

or fret about their wicked schemes.

Stop being angry!

Turn from your rage!

Do not lose your temper - 

it only leads to harm.

For the wicked will be destroyed,

but those who trust in the Lord

will possess the land.
